Two state parks in Georgia

I was ahead of myself in time so could slow down and stay at a couple of State Parks in Georgia. The first Chattahoochee Bend State Park was one of the best parks I have every visited. It is the newest Park in Georgia and was only opened eight years ago. What was striking was the layout, the multiple hiking trails and dedicated mountain biking trails and even several children’s play areas with modern playground equipment. All RV sites have electric and water connections. With the high temperatures during the day (about 33C) it was good to have the a/c on.  I went mountain biking along the easy trails in the early morning and in the evening.  I was surprised at how few people there were but the ranger told me that because last weekend was the July 4th weekend no one was taking this midweek time off.

The second park was the F.D. Roosevelt State Park - a long established large park which is near Warm Springs and the Little White House where FDR died in April 1945. Several structures in the Park were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps as part of the New Deal in the 1930s. There are extensive hiking trails in the area.

These pictures are from the Chattahoochee Bend State Park.
